COMPETITIONS 2020

We are looking for the best 2D (two-dimensional) works in any media including drawings, paintings, printmaking and digital artwork. (Excluding photography as artform)

Dreamedia Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival 2020 @ Home is excited to host our Jetty Art Space Competition, brought to you by the Nightcliff Community Bank® Branch of Bendigo Bank

Categories:

Children: $300 - Aged 15 years old and under 
One overall major winner 
Prize donated by Nightcliff Community Bank® Branch Bendigo Bank plus spot prizes by Seabreeze!

Adults: $500 - Aged 16 years old and over
One overall major winner 

Bonus People's Choice Award: $200 - One winner. This will be decided by most Likes+Hearts !

Open to all Darwin, Palmerston and Litchfield Municipality individual artists.
Start: 20 April 2020
Finish: Entries close Saturday 9th May 12:00 Midnight

How to submit your entry:

Post directly onto the "Discussion" tab of the competition page. Once artwork is accepted into competition your post will be approved and changed to public viewing by host.

Children’s Category – Must be submitted by consenting parents or carers and through their Facebook. Adults can upload a digital image (.jpg, .png) of their child’s artwork and include in your post: 
1. Age and first name of Child
2. Title of the artwork
3. brief description of artwork/medium (20words) 

Adult's Category – You can submit a .jpg image 
1. Name of artist
2. Title of the artwork
3. brief description of artwork/medium. (20words)

You can request your entry not be displayed on Facebook but you will not be able to qualify for the People's Choice Award. 

Major Prize Winners will be announced on Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival Facebook page and in the Jetty Art Space Competition Event Page. Winners will be publicly announced on Sunday 10th May at the end of Darwin TV Festival Broadcast. 
Major Prize Winners will be contacted via Facebook Messenger and/or email.

Minor spot prizes and peoples choice award will be given throughout the competition and winners will be notified via Facebook Messenger.

Any likes/hearts on the image of your artwork will not count to go towards the final judging in Child and Adult category but is the basis for the People's Choice Award. 

Terms and Conditions: 

All artwork submitted must be deemed as child friendly and G-Rated. Seabreeze@Home has the right to not display artwork. Artists will be informed if their artwork does not meet the criteria with a chance to reapply. 
All public on submitting their artwork agree to the use of the images and details submitted by the artist.
Judging will be based on a combination of creativity and skill. Judges decisions are final. 
People's Choice Award will be decided by most likes/hearts.
If a Prize is declined by a Winner or is withdrawn from a Winner by the Promoter under these conditions: a. The declining or forfeiting Winner will continue to be subject to the provisions of these Terms and Conditions; and b. The Promoter shall offer that Prize to a new Winner selected by the Judges.

Open to:
all Darwin, Palmerston and Litchfield Municipality artists.
Starts: 21 April 2020
Finishes: Entries close Saturday 9th May 12:00 Midnight.
 

Categories:

Household, Family or Individual: Household and Family mean all are isolating at the same address. If there are three people in one household, three people can submit individual entries or all can work on the one entry. 
Prize: $350 for the overall winning entry plus various spot prizes.

People's Choice Award: The artwork that gets most Likes+Hearts
Prize: Seabreeze Prize Pack Value $150

How to submit: 

You can submit up to three jpg images from different angles, plus you can submit a short video (less than 1 minute) showing you and your sculpture, please include in your post, the name of the artist and sculpture.
Post into this event's "Discussion" Tab, once your artwork is accepted your post will be visible from the event page.

Definition of sculpture: the art of making three dimensional representative or abstract forms, especially by sand, clay, ice, lego, stone, wood, plaster, bricks, food, metal, wire, fabric, paper, wax and recycled materials. You are only limited by your creativity!
Sculptures can be made from any material following strict COVID-19 Guidelines 

We encourage you to include the insertion with your video your interpretation of the Auslan Sign Language for Seabreeze.
